Prom Princess

When shopping for a Prom dress, girls have the desire of wanting to be noticed on that special night. Which dress is really going to stand out amongst the crowd? What can I wear that will be unforgettable? Girls want to make a statement and sparkle in the pictures that they will keep forever. One way you could achieve these goals: go for the Ball Gown!

Ball gowns have a way of setting you apart from all of your peers. They are bold, big, and usually heavily embellished. This really gives the Cinderella feel as you sashay into the venue. Eye catching beads or a bold printed skirt are sure to be crowd pleasers. Why not try a two piece ball gown? Something new and daring will be remembered. You can always go for brighter colors as well, like neon green or a toxic orange. Have fun when picking your gown color, dare to be different!

When shopping for a strapless ball gown, looking for one that has a corset back is always beneficial. Corset backs will give you all the support you are going to need throughout the night. Being able to tie your gown to the perfect tightness to have comfort and assurance that you will not have to tug on it is ideal. Plus, this style is sure to show off your curves, even though you are in a fuller skirt.

There is a certain feeling girls get when they try these gowns on. The feeling of being a princess, the bell of the ball! There are only a few chances a girl gets in her lifetime to wear something so extravagant, why not Prom? The new styles being shown for this coming year are impeccable, and we are going to be receiving ball gowns galore! Featured in this blog are some of our favorites from the 2016 Mori Lee Paparazzi Prom collection. Be bold, and go big this year girls!

Fall-ing in Love

FALL WEDDING BLOG 2fall wedding blog 5

Fall is one of those seasons you can’t help but fall in love with. From the cool crisp weather, football games and of course pumpkin spice- well everything, autumn seems to lift everyone’s mood. As a bride, it is amazing to see the ideas that you can come about by simply using “fall” as your theme. It is not just pumpkins and hayrides that this magical season boasts, but also fall’s natural glory such as the colors, acorns and leaves.

Imagine THE dress. From gowns that have beautiful soft lace to stunning embellishments, it’s amazing how well it can coordinate with your fall wedding. Think how stunning it would be to have a beautiful ivory dress that whispers a hue of blush, light gold or even a sultry mocha tone. There are so many options to try that will truly fit in perfectly within the season. Abbott’s Bridal carries a great selection of gowns that come in all of these different shades, and then some!

Fall out of old traditions and spice up your reception by shocking your guests with unforgettable treats. Surprise them with a pie or smore’s bar; which you can incorporate many different flavors depending on your preference. Another great trend that will stand out and be extraordinary is providing your guests with hot apple cider accompanied with a delicious cider donut. Your guests will not only fall in love with your treats but by having these delectable’s they will fall in love with your wedding!

The best part about having a fall wedding is that there are countless color options. Here at Abbott’s Bridal we’ve seen many beautiful weddings that incorporate so many beautiful colors. Curvy Couture

One of the most frequent phone calls we get here at Abbott’s is “Do you have plus size gowns?” The answer is YES! We carry two great full figure designers, Bonny Unforgettable and Mori Lee Julietta, as well as various sizes from our other top designers. Bonny and Mori Lee offer a wide selection of silhouettes and styles to suit any curvaceous bride’s needs.

Abbott’s Bridal always aims to satisfy every customer that comes in for an appointment. By carrying lines like Unforgettable and Julietta we know there is something for every shape and size to try on here. Generally we always have 25+ plus size pieces on hand to choose from, giving curvy brides a nice selection to try.

Every bride is not a size zero, that’s a given! But who says a size twenty can’t wear a mermaid or fit-n-flare? You totally can! Picking a gown with a ruched bodice or an asymmetrical design would be perfect to flatter your curves. Choosing a fitted gown with a corset tie back is ideal given that corsets work to accentuate every curve in the most flattering way. Corsets also give the gown the utmost support if you are looking for strapless, taking all of your worries away about fidgeting with it all night long.

Ball gowns and A-line styles are very popular for women looking to accentuate their waistline. Finding this style that hits at the small of your waist is great if you are looking to disguise your hips but still embrace your figure. Abbott’s Bridal recommends trying these two styles on, even if it is not what you had in mind. They are sure to surprise you!

Every bride usually has a look in mind when she starts to shop for a wedding gown. Abbott’s believes in trying on all different silhouettes and styles because you never know how a gown will look until it is on your body. Trying on gowns that may be outside your comfort zone is a good thing! You won’t love everything you try on, but that is the process that helps you find “The One”!

Two Piece Prom Dresses 2016

For juniors and seniors, prom cannot come soon enough. It is the event of the year, the event everyone talks about starting the first day back to school. Who is going with who, and what everyone is wearing. Dress shopping is the most exciting during prom season, seeing the hottest new trends of the year and scooping up the perfect look for you. Abbott’s Bridal & Formalwear is so very excited to receive the 2016 prom collection. It may be our favorite year yet!

One of the newest and hottest trends we are seeing from Mori Lee Paparazzi and Faviana are two piece prom dresses. Fully beaded and embellished tops accompanied by flowing tulle or fitted jersey skirts. High necklines are common when looking at two piece dresses, as well as the covered illusion beaded backs. While this look can be more on the sultry side, the high necklines can make them look very sweet and sophisticated. We are also seeing a lot of satin ball gown two pieces for this year too. The satin gives more of a traditional feel, while still being trendy with the detached top.

If a two piece prom dress is what you’re after, we always suggest looking into your schools dress code. The last thing you want is to find the dress of your dreams and have it not be appropriate to wear. However, the skirts tend to be a higher waist leaving minimal midriff showing beneath the crop top. Knowing what is permitted will allow you to pick your perfect dress for your unforgettable night!

Below is a sneak peek of what Abbott’s Bridal & Formalwear will be receiving this prom season!! All featured from Mori Lee’s Paparazzi 2016 prom collection. You can follow our Facebook and Instagram accounts for updates on their arrival! Cannot wait to see you soon!
