Appointments are preferred, but we do welcome walk-in appointments. However Saturdays and Sundays are our most active days and appointments are required. We want you to have an exceptional experience in our store; therefore we want to make sure one of our bridal consultants will be readily available to assist you.
Our rooms accommodate between 2-5 guests. With experience, it is less stressful and more beneficial to bring those who will help you make this important decision. Once you find your dress there is plenty of time to bring additional guests to any future appointments.
A bridal appointment on average takes up to two hours. Our appointments are not scheduled for a certain amount of time, we want you to take the time you need to find the dress of your dreams. If you are considering bringing children to your appointment please keep this in mind. This is a formal dress shop and they may not be as entertained as we are :)
Typically the majority of our designers we offer take up to 6 months of ordering time. We also like to recommend 4-5 months before the wedding for alternations. If your wedding date falls before this suggested time frame we do have other options available.
Price range can vary; a typical range for bridal is between $1,500 and $2,000. On the bridal floor we have dresses that start at $800 and go up to $5,000, as well as a special sale room that accommodates price points of $300 and up.
The time frame for ordering a special occasion dress is up to 4 months. This varies from designer to designer as well as the time of year. We also carry options for closer dates with our ready to wear companies.
Bridesmaid dresses take up to 4 months to arrive. We recommend at least 6 months for a comfortable time frame for you and your attendants (choosing the dress, ordering, shipping and alterations). You want to give yourself between 1-2 months for alterations for these gowns.
We have a wonderful alterations department where your fittings and all of the work on your dress will take place. This is a service is provided for Abbott's Brides. If you have your own seamstress you are more than welcome to do alterations elsewhere other than Abbott’s Bridal. Unfortunately we do not offer this service on bridesmaids dresses but we do provide a list of local seamstresses in the area.
For bridal you will need to start your alterations 4-5 months prior to your wedding date. This will give you enough time to schedule the recommended amount of fittings for your specific dress. If your gown happens to come in before the recommended alterations time frame we will happily schedule you a Pre-Alterations appointment which allows you to try on your wedding dress before you start your alteration process. For mothers and bridesmaids you need to start this process 2 months prior to the wedding date.
For your alterations appointment it is essential to have the shoes that you will be wearing that day, along with any special undergarments you plan on wearing. One of the most important things a seamstress does is to mark your hemline; therefore the shoes need to be that same at every appointment.
Yes, we do. We offer this service to brides who purchased their gown at Abbott’s as well as those who did not. This process normally takes up to 12 weeks to complete.
